Welcome to Our Shih Tzu Breeding Program
With over 20 years of experience in dog breeding and care, I have dedicated my life to raising dogs with the utmost attention to their health and well-being. My family and I have previously shown Australian Shepherds and Shih Tzus, and while we no longer raise Aussies, our focus now is solely on Shih Tzus. This breed, in our view, embodies the ideal qualities for a family pet: child-friendly, low-shedding, calm, and vigilant without being aggressive, with minimal health issues.
As a stay-at-home mother, I oversee every aspect of our bustling household and the care of our dogs, who are truly considered part of our family. It is my primary goal to breed and raise exceptional puppies that will bring joy and love to your home. I take immense pride in providing families with the happiness that a well-raised puppy can bring. To keep you connected with your future puppy, I provide weekly photo updates as they grow and request that you send occasional updates so we can see how they are thriving in their new home.
Puppy Socialization and Health
Socialization is a cornerstone of our breeding program. From an early age, our puppies are exposed to various environments and experiences to ensure they are confident and well-adjusted. For transparency, I am happy to provide photos of the puppies’ parents. All of our adult dogs are in excellent health and have been carefully screened for genetic and health issues to ensure the highest standards of temperament and well-being.
Visitation and Policies
To protect the health of our puppies, particularly from risks such as parvovirus and other infectious diseases, we do not permit public access to the nursery. Similar to a hospital nursery, it is essential that the environment remains calm and stress-free for the mothers and their puppies. This policy helps ensure that each puppy remains healthy and safe. While we cannot accommodate visits to the nursery, I am happy to arrange a meeting with the puppy you are interested in around six weeks of age, provided hand sanitizer is used. Please note that puppies will not leave for their new homes until they are vet-checked and at least eight weeks old.
Breeding Frequency
The number of litters we have each year varies. We only mate our female dogs when they are in optimal physical condition, which may occur once a year or every other year, depending on numerous factors. We prioritize the health and readiness of our females to ensure a successful pregnancy and healthy litter. Our dogs receive premium food and prenatal vitamins to support their health throughout the breeding process.
Retired Breeding Dogs
Our retired breeding dogs remain with us as cherished members of our family. We believe in providing lifelong care and never part with our beloved dogs once their breeding careers have ended.
Thank you for considering one of our Shih Tzus. We look forward to helping you find a new family member and are committed to ensuring that our puppies bring joy and companionship to your home.
